Career Camp Scholarship Application

In an effort to decrease barriers to entering the genetic counseling profession, the Association for Utah Genetic Counselors (AUG) and the University of Utah Graduate Program of Genetic Counseling (UUGPGC) are extending an opportunity for scholarship to five (5) individuals choosing to attend the 2023 Genetic Counseling Career Camp.

To qualify for the waiver you must meet the following two (2) criteria:

    1. The National Society of Genetic Counselor’s (NSGC) definition of diversity:

Diversity encompasses any and all individuals with a range of different characteristics, including but not limited to: age, race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, country of origin, culture, language, religion, spiritual beliefs, legal status, health history, and disability. Individuals with underrepresented characteristics and identities face logistical, social, and historical pressures that impact their professional and personal lives.

    2. Individuals whose opportunities to pursue the genetic counseling profession would be expanded by this financial assistance.

To be considered for the waiver, please complete the fields below and submit the form by 11:59 PM MDT on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Awards will be determined by raffle from the pool of self-selected applicants. All applicants will be notified of the outcome by email no later than Monday, June 12, 2023. Awardees will have 48 hours to respond to the notice of the fee waiver. Instructions to register for the event using the fee waiver will be provided at that time. Registration slots will be saved for both awardees and those not selected.

Please note that you do not need to register for the Career Camp to be considered for this opportunity. If you do choose to register and are later awarded a waiver, you will be reimbursed for the registration cost ($20).
